About me

Luuc Zandbergen

I started in 1992 as a system administrator, at organisations including Gasunie, the City of Groningen and Groningen's academic hospital.

Over time I moved closer to the people behind the technology: coordinator at DUO and Unit4, team lead of a support desk with customers in more than sixty countries, and customer success manager at Dustin and Eneve.

For two years I drove a bus in Groningen. That's where you learn what service means: on time, every trip, for everyone who gets on.

AI fascinates me: the technology is there, but it also has to work for people. That's why this autumn I took the Data & AI Advisor course and passed the exam, with SIAM and AI Act compliance as extra depth.

What I build myself

KasKan: keep your receipts and see how long your warranty lasts.

When you buy a washing machine or a laptop, your legal warranty often lasts longer than the manufacturer's. But how long exactly, and where is that receipt? KasKan keeps your receipts and shows straight away how long the legal warranty lasts per product.

AI reads the receipt and pre-fills the details: product, brand, store, price and purchase date. You check and confirm. AI does the work, you stay in control. The legal warranty is an indication based on the expected lifespan; KasKan refers to the Dutch consumer authority (ACM) for it.

What it teaches me

  • Let AI prepare and people decide.
  • Be honest about what AI is not sure of.
  • Start with a working prototype, not a big plan.
